Another application
I use these for drainage with my potted plants. They stay loose and don't clump.

Looks good in my converted fireplace
I converted a wood fireplace to natural gas and this hides all the components. With some wool and good-looking "wood" pieces, it fakes a lot of people out.

SAND for fire pit
The quality was good I thought it was going to be grainy sand but they were small stones which worked out better. The color was great as well added a nice Tuscan look to the fire pit. I should have ordered more than 1 bag though to gwt the full look I wanted.

Very nice sand, but noisy
This is going to sound crazy, but this sand is noisy. Specifically, if you have a pan, with a built-in tube, that distributes the gas across the underside of the logs in your gas fireplace, the sand serves the purpose of dispersing the gas into an attractive flame. What I have learned, is, the sand also serves to muffle the sound of the gas hissing out of the openings in the tube. Previously, I had used finer sand, which, muffles the sound of the escaping gas more effectively. With this particular product, which is beautiful, but significantly more coarse, the fireplace hisses significantly louder, which is a little counterproductive to a natural, relaxing experience.

Rocks are turning black?
Fell in love with the color rocks for my chimney, but I’m noticing that the rocks are turning black quick.

NOT 100% SILICA SAND
There are small sea shells mixed in with the silica sand, I cannot use this in my soil for my carnivorous plants because the shells will leach calcium into the soil. Didn't say anything in the description about being mixed with sea shells.
