A loop game
This is a great collection of games, that is a visual novel and an escape room puzzles. This series does a great job having difficulty puzzles that need you to write down information that you will use to clear the one room or later in the game. You maybe wondering where the loop comes in, well these are death games where choices will decide the fate of the characters, which could lead to the MCs dying, but dying is a good thing. As you use your acquired knowledge to continue a storyline that might have been locked due to the MC not knowing information from a prior route. So playthrough every route. This is more true in the second game than the first.Visuals are what you want in a Visual Novel, however the 3d models of the second game look more like a downgrade to the art used in the first game. As expressions are lost as an upset character will sound it in the VA but look happy. However this never hinders your ability to solve the puzzles, but might confuse you on what you can and can't interact with for both games.I do like that we have the ability to click to different routes on the story map, however a lot of information is the same and redundant after you read it once so I am sad we can't fast skip to new content information without ending up going past the desired dialogue changes. This was recommended to me and I really like the game as a whole. Yes their is a connection between the two games that is told spectacularly, and makes me eager to see how they wrap up the series with the third game. For a loop game it's fun just taking what you know and building on that information with each new route before you get a lore dump proving what you pieced together, throughout each playthrough. 999 is a lot more straight forward with the story as you won't need to do much backtracking to get all the endings. Lost Virtue has a lot of back tracking down routes as I said the more you know the more endings you can see and that is definitely true of this game. So enjoy the story.

Perfect
Finally bought this to replace the physical copy I lost just before 2020. The Zero Escape Series is one of my all time favorite trilogies. The Nonary Games gives you the first two titles in the series. The shipping was fast and it arrived in perfect condition. I prefer having physical games when I can so it made me happy that there are still places out there selling it at a reasonable price. If you like mysteries with the threat of a death game for the characters I highly recommend giving this a try.999 is the first title in the series and game one of two on this disk. I suggest you start with that one first. It follows more of a 2D visual novel style with a mass majority of the game voice acted. In the second game there is a pretty big art style shift to 3D that takes time to get used to but boy is the story good as things unfold. All of the games follow an escape room point and click mechanic when you’re not in the visual novel aspect/discussion portion.Just a warning for those getting this to play for the first time: This is a series where you need to play through multiple times to get to the true ending or even finish some story lines you may have started. Learning information from others is key in different routes even if your current route doesn’t have you interact with them that much. There’s a massive improvement from the old DS version of the game, you get a flowchart. Using it you’ll be able to hop around to different points in the story to change your decisions or go in with new information as needed. You’ll also be able to see which endings you don’t have and where things possibly branch off in your decision making. The original didn’t have that and you had to play the game from the very beginning EVERY time.

Buy if you enjoyed "Until Dawn"
There are much better reviews from other users than the one I'm writing now. Put simply, if you enjoy games with multiple endings, deep thought, writing your own individual notes when playing to refer back to and complex plots, this game is for you.I originally bought this to hold me over until Destiny 2, thinking I could beat it in a weekend. Oh, how wrong I was on that one. I appreciate all the effort this developer put into this game. There is not a ton of gruesome images in this game, it's relatively more toned down and tame than say "Until Dawn". I finished all the multiple endings on both games. It's well worth your money.Five stars, couldn't ask for more.

I highly recommend playing the game in the novel mode as the ...
This package is absolutely worth revisiting if you've played the games before, and if you haven't played them yet? Welcome to the Zero Escape series! The first game (999) really benefits from the addition of the flowchart that wasn't present in the original DS release as it makes repeat play throughs much easier to maintain. Also, the voice acting is top-notch (kudos to Junpei's voice actor who seriously reminds me of Parks and Rec's Adam Scott, even though it isn't him, haha). Finally, I highly recommend playing the game in the novel mode as the writing helps fill in a lot of the subtle clues you might miss by just playing in regular mode (with the text boxes).

Awesome introduction to VN
Not being very familiar with Visual Novels, I just followed recommendations on the internet and purchased this compilation. It proved to be actually very interesting and the story has some great twists. I recommend for anime and time travel fans.

It really was acceptable.
The condition said it would be acceptable and by god is it acceptable, it had a bunch of stickers stuck on it and the case was dirty, I mean the game works so it’s not that big of deal and it said it was acceptable so I got what I deserved, wish it was in better condition though. The game rocks though

Too expensive.
Competent port, but highly overpriced considering the content. The ports are decent enough quality but honestly, you're probably better off with the Vita version of the same collection as it's cheaper and there are some parts that seem very obviously for touchscreens. Wait for a sale.
