Does class chalk work good with this board?

I have Sargent brand and it does work, but it’s not very big so I use chalk markers which I prefer.

Will this magnetically stick to the fridge?

No. This is like a big frame you would hang on the wall. The chalkboard is magnetic so you can place magnets on there or use as a chalkboard.
