Q: I'm a woodworker and I want to use these in a project. Can these dials be unmounted from the wood plaque, and what is the outer diameter of the dial?

The dials are easily removed, by pushing them out from the back. The OD of the bass ring is 3 1/2". The hole is about 1/8" deep with a smaller hole of 2 3/8" that goes all the way thru.

Q: How is the accuracy? Have you compared it to readings from a local weather station or digital device?

Accuracy:Indoor temperature: ± 3.6 °FIndoor humidity: 20% - 45%: ± 9%45% - 75%: ± 6%75% - 98%: ± 9%Barometric Pressure:1060hPa - 1030hPa: ± 10hPa1030hPa - 990hPa: ± 5hPa990hPa - 960hPa: ± 10hPaYou must calibrate the barometer to local conditions (to offset altitude effects). Thus, the barometer should track the local official weather station nicely.Digital devices can be less or more accurate (depending on the cost). Digital devices will drift over time (capatitive sensors become contaminated) but they too can be calibrated.If you want the most accurate analog barometers, consider our line of the German Made Fischer Barometers. They are 2-3 times more expensive.

Q: Can you repaint this?

That’s a really good question! I’m not sure but my guess it yes. I’m fairly confident (but not certain) that the gages come out and you can then repaint the board and put them back in. At least they appear to, but I have not tried it.

Q: Does this come with a key to adjust the accuracy of the meters?

No, you need like a screw driver for Glasses. It's a real small slot in the back side. Get a warm cloth set the meter down on it 30 mins. Then adjust the Humidity to 95% I found that taking a hack saw slice through just at the back wall it's a 1/16th thick. Then do the the warm cloth, then you can use your fingers. Air pressure meter was Ok for me, temp is off. It's good looking but a little shy, for being accurate.
