Great coffee!
Bought as "Amazon refurbished" and it works as described and makes great coffee. Brewing temperature is about right for immediate sipping. There were no surprises regarding the refurbished condition. It was actually probably better than described. The design is nice, it is not unpleasant to look at but it does take up a bit of counter space, about 2-3 times more than a regular drip coffee maker or Keurig. Over a couple months of several times a day use, it has been 100% reliable. The refurbished price made it a good value.

Game changer for those who want cafe quality drinks at home.
1. Exceptional Coffee Quality: The espresso and coffee it produces are rich, flavorful, and aromatic. The adjustable grind settings ensure you can tailor your brew to your taste.2. Intuitive Touch Display: The user-friendly interface makes it easy to select and customize drinks like espresso, cappuccino, or latte macchiato.3. Built-In Milk Frother: The LatteGo system creates creamy, frothy milk effortlessly, adding a professional touch to your beverages.4. Customizable Settings: You can adjust coffee strength, grind size, and water volume to create your perfect cup every time.5. Low Maintenance: The AquaClean filter reduces the need for frequent descaling, and the detachable parts are easy to clean. The water tank is Small so sometimes limiting if you’re making multiple drinks for guests.Like most espresso machines, it’s a bit noisy during grinding and brewing. It's an investment, but the quality and features make it worth the cost for coffee enthusiasts.

Quickly pays for itself- easily better than Starbucks!
Perfect foam, and excellent coffee. Easy to maintain. I’ve owned Saeco machines for 20+ years; this one is smaller and easier to maintain.Wish it had a double cappuccino option! And the espresso shot is on the small side- but just have 2 :). Other than that it’s close to perfect.Measured hot water feature is also great- don’t overlook this for quick hot tea or hot chocolate.

A decent deal for what is normally a $500 automatic, beats a Keurig.
Buying anything refurb normally makes me cringe with distrust and imagine I'm simply lighting my money on fire, but I've had this for long enough to put it through it's paces and let the grinder prove it's durability. And it's not a behemoth on my modest sized countertops. It was either this for $250 on a Black Friday deal or replace my dying Keurig for $150. As a former Barista in my youth, this was a no brainer. Finally scratches my itch for a decent latte in the morning without having to grind, tamp, and manually froth a cup while I'm still half blind with sleep.Dial it in vis-a-vis the Milk, Coffee, and Temp settings (factory settings are way too conservative), and it does what you ask it to do as long as you're feeding it halfway decent beans. It even produced a fair-enough bit of crema from my cherished Malabar Gold beans, showing a nice mousetail as the shot pours. From what I can tell, all the various Philips automatic models have the same modular core, so the extra Bling Bling features on the more pricey models are just flash and settings. This base model does Good Enough. And to anyone who's worked a coffee stand, it's a dream to clean. Just literally pop out the guts like its a Brother printer cartridge and rinse it once a week, airdry and pop back in.The little Lattego frother attachment is shockingly effective for what it is, and hasn't choked on Half & Half for Breves or any of the non-dairy milks I've subjected it to. You just need to manually dial the unit in to FROTH ENOUGH MILK, DAMMIT.It has little quirks, like the spill tray needs to be dumped IMMEDIATELY after a couple cups, and you should always keep a cup in place to catch the self-clean cycles as it sits in standby. That's a good thing. If you don't make sure the tray is firmly seated back in place, the unit will just blink the error light at you. I imagine this is what caused my unit to be returned and refurbed in the first place, but it works fine once you figure out it's tricks so it won't waste your good beans.Seattle CoffeeGear did a fine job testing that, yes indeed, it worked, but you don't get all the original packaging with manual and water test strips. Only reason I didn't give this 5 stars. Otherwise, it's hard to beat a deal like this for a $300 full-auto maker that is a snap to clean, if a little arcane to dial in, to make your own proper cup and save $7 and sit in line for a 16 oz drink at Dutch Bros or Starbucks.

Quality
This is the third automatic espresso machines I’ve owned and the cheapest by far, that being said this one is the best (the other two were Phillips and Saeco) brews wonderful shots of espresso with rich crema, the “lattego” feature makes frothing so much easier and it pours it into the cup during the brew process.Got mine refurbished for $359 but was new out of the box (can’t figure that one out)Highly pleased with this machine now that it’s “worn in” it’s brewing better than Starbucks.I use Lavazza super crema beans and it’s amazing.

I got tricked into a “certified refurbished” that broke and warranty is not honored
Thought I was buying a new model until I noticed the label. :(Update: after 5 months the grinder stopped working. Since this was a “renewed (as new)” Philips won’t honor the warranty. Repairs require shipping the unit to a repairman across country before you even know the cost to fix (which could be as much as a new machine once parts / labor / 2 way shipping is factored in)
