Is this product good to use as a curling cream replacement? following the loc method.

The MopTop LOC Method calls for our Leave-In Conditioner, Mongongo Oil, and Curly Hair Custard. If your hair performs well using creams and oils, then you will want to use more Leave-In Conditioner and Mongongo Oil, and LESS Curly Hair Custard. If you are too heavy-handed with the Curly Hair Custard, it can dry flaky. A quick fix would be a spritz or water or oil to add moisture and eliminate flakes, and then use less Custard going forward.

What’s the difference between this and Mop Tops medium hold gel?

Thank you for your interest in MopTop! The texture of your hair and what you’re trying to accomplish are the main variables in answering this question. The gel will have more “hold” and be chunkier and clumpier. The custard will have more definition and be "piecier". If you are trying to control frizz, you will need to play with the appropriate amount of product to use to get the effect you’d like. If you are having mid-day frizz without an increased activity level causing it, you may need to use more product. Also, WAIT until the product is 70-80% dry before scrunching. So, in a nutshell: chunky clumpy curls = Medium Hold Gel definition and added moisture = Curly Hair Custard PLAY to determine the best order for you! This styler is our triple-threat – it provides soft definition for curls, creates volume, and locks in moisture without heaviness or crunch. This product is designed for curly to kinky-coily hair. Perfect for cocktailing with our Leave-In Conditioner and Mongongo Oil. Directions for use: Apply section by section to wet (or just shy of dripping-wet) hair, scrunch, and let dry or “set” until about 80% dry. Scrunch to “release” the set. Curls like to be together and will separate if you scrunch or touch too much before almost dry. Once it has set, you may work with it without creating more frizz. May also be used to smooth dry fly-aways. Remember - A little goes a long way! It is not greasy and you will need to play with the amount to get it just right for your hair.
