Will it be good for dog drinking bowl?

A bit costly for a dog bowl. Why don't you try pet supplies!

I doubt it. I would always use Pyrex bowls in the microwave. If you want to be sure why not email customer services at Joseph Joseph online. I have contacted them before and got a response. I bought my Nest for use when camping but have used it far more in my kitchen at home than I thought. Hope that helps. Also spoons are in ml and american 'cup' measurements so I have found them very useful.

Is it heat proof? Will I be able to use the bowls as bain marie?

Not sure I would not use these for a bain marie. They cannot go into the microwave but they are dishwasher safe.
