Works great, does not harm koi or plants
This is my 3rd purchase for my pond. I have a 26" koi, goldfish and their "goi" offspring as well as ornamental plants. I follow the application directions and dilute it with pond water & apply first thing in the morning. I do find I need 2-3 treatments once I've got string algae, but if it's just green water, a single treatment clears it right up. You will see results in a few hours in water clarity and coloration. I do add "sludge destroyer" beneficial bacteria after the final dose and clean the dead algae out of the pond and filter. I only treat every few months. I try to keep my habitat healthy by balancing fish, plants, proper feeding, regular filter cleanings and the regular introduction of beneficial bacteria to prevent algae overgrowth.

Works like a charm!
I used this after battling with algae for a short while. I tried other products which only produced half of the results I was looking for. I calculated the amount that was required for my pond after consulting their website I think it was (can't quite remember if it was there or on the container). When I saw the small amount that I came up with in my calculations I was a little skeptical and thought to myself that I was going to get the same results that I got from the other products. However, not wanting to harm my two kois, two other fishes, a goldfish and my water lilies, I went ahead with the dose I calculated. I poured it in the pond in the night and only got a chance to check the pond in the afternoon I got home from work the next day. I was so surprised at what I saw. The pond had cleared right up, the water looked clear and I could see the bottom of the pond once again. My fishes were fine and so were the plants. I am writing this review about four months since I used that dosage and I have had no need to use it since, maybe partly due to the fact that I have taken other steps such as adding a UV filter and ensuring a larger percentage coverage of the pond by plants.

Stuff works! Review my photos.
Please check out my before and after photos I have uploaded. I have a 1,800 gallon pond with over stocked goldfish and two Koi fish left over. For two years I've been researching and battling and whatever trying to figure out what to do. I got away from a 600gph pump with a pre-filter and a 6 gallon bio filter. I bought a 110 gallon horse stock tank and a Pond Master 1,800gph pump together with the Tetra Algae Control treatment. I tried the pre filter to protect my pumps but the String algae loved the filter material and grew on it in 12-hours. I removed the prefilter from the pump and took (2) POND BOSS SQUARE PLANT BASKETS #DPB10 and placed my pump inside two of these plant baskets and zip tied the two baskets together buttend-to-buttend and my pump hasn't clogged in over 2 weeks and have not loss any water flow or pressure since. For two years I've been battling Green String Algae. This is the only time I've been able to see the fish below the surface and the pebble stones at the bottom of my pond. IT IS EASY TO OVER TREAT YOUR POND AND KILL YOUR FISH. Be confident how many gallons your pond is. I "under treated" and still got good results. I had to clean my filter immediately as the Algae Control along with UV Clarifier and the filter media caught all the dead algae and my "stock tank" biofilter clogged and over flowed. I got a 2-gallon water bucket. Filled it with garden hose water. Poured Tetra Control into the bucket. Then into the 110 gallon biofilter I assembled to create some dilution. And I poured it the opposite end of the outlet pipe. I recommend this product. In two days it hasn't killed anything. Not floating fish and no dead fish stink. I have more than 1 dozen frogs at night and they haven't died.

Rea)y gets rid of string algae
Really worked in just a few applications. Every spring I have major string algae issues and this product worked better than any other I've tried.

junk
This stuff did clear the water but it's killing my fish. I've had a pond for over 4 years now. My pond is 12,000 gal. I used this stuff 48 hours ago. My fish are lifeless. I don't expect them to live. They are staying in one spot. Gasping for air. I'm not sure if they will live or die. Probably won't live another 48 hours. They are not eating or swimming around as normal. I don't know what to do. I'm afraid it's too late to do anything. I have more than adequate aeration. This breaks my heart. I have koi 10 and 12 inches long. They were healthy and beautiful. I used this stuff according to directions. I can tell it's killing my fish. Between 35 and 40 koi. I strongly suggest not using this product as it is toxic to fish. This product should be removed from the market. DO NOT USE THIS unless you want to take a chance of killing everything in your pond!!! What a shame . Four years of hard work wasted. :((

I lowered the dosage yesterday and still lost my favorite Koi fish
This product is ok, but must be very careful on the dosage when adding to your pond. First time I used it lost 9 goldfish out of 12. I lowered the dosage yesterday and still lost my favorite Koi fish. Other fish appear ok. When using algae control, expect your fish to hide, not eat and appear gasping for air. This is a side effect of the chemical. Takes about two days for fish to be back to normal. I've only used this product twice, maybe it takes awhile for fish to adjust to it. It's added once a week at least 3 days after you add Micro-Lift to your pond weekly. Be sure and use Micro-Lift for your fish to keep them healthly. Stress Coat is also good when adding new fish or when adding water to your pond if on city water because of the chloride in the water. Hope this has helped you pond owners.
