It’s a standard single line label printer
If you’re looking for the old school style, one line labels, this is perfect for the task. It’s fairly simple to understand the instructions and it works great with a selection of different colored tapes, etc.. you can use batteries or plug, which makes it convenient.

This one is way better than the PTD610B
I first got the Brother 610, which was terrible. Way too big to hold, but annoying to type with when not holding. Controls laid out wrong etc etcThis one is far better. A bit smaller, but it makes a world of difference when it comes to hand holding it, and the keys are laid out far better. Like, WAY WAY better. The 610 is really baffling in how many unforced errors it has compared to the 460. D-pad in wrong location, no dedicated format buttons, etc etcPrint quality is just as good as the 610. No 1" tape with this model, but the 3/4th inch tape is as big as I ever need. This one appears to have all the font and frame settings of the 610.Lot of good features, but I wanna especially mention the font. Borther included a couple really classy ones. I'm hard to please for fonts, so I wanna call out their good taste in particular. My only complaints are:*The inputs are laggy. Really inexcusable for a system this basic in 2024*More font sizes. Odd that they don't let you scale more than they do.*I wish there were a way to view preview the label by default. You choose a font and font size, but it types in the basic font on the screen until you hit preview. The preview looks fine, so why not let me simply type in preview mode?*There should be a shift key on the right size. Annoying that there isn't.*DPI could be higher. You can see the letters are a bit jagged on smaller font sizes, or when you make letter width thinner. But it looks totally fine unless you look real closeOther than that, this is exactly what I wanted. Huge step up from only being able to label in in black text.Oh. And make sure to set label margins tight. It ships with them set to waste a lot of your tape unnecessarily. A coincidence— and not a strategy to sell more tape— I'm sure.

Label maker
The machine works great. The labels stick well and have lasted for six months in a space that is subject to wide variations in temperature and humidity. Replacement tape is expensive.

Labeling everything.
A very versatile label maker. Very good label sizes for all needs. The only negative I have found is when you want to print fractions, you have a few listed like 1/4-1/2 -3/4. Fractions should be smaller than the whole number. I would like to see the ability to print smaller numbers upper and lower smaller to make any fraction needed. Example: 3-9/16" Cheaper label makers have that ability. This label maker is, other than that, a great label maker.

Easy to use, reliable, trust worthy company
As far as printer companies go, Brother is about the only one I have used that isn't actively trying to extract as much money as they can from you through subscription services or outrageously priced ink/label replacements. I use them for my full sized laser printer and also for my label maker. This does everything you could ask, works via the keyboard on the device or through the app, and has replaceable batteries to boot. I expect this label maker to last a very long time.

Software is a blessing - labels print great
I use this for work and purchased for myself. I have to make ID tags with calibration information for over 400 pieces of equipment annually. I used to have to type up each label every time from start to finish. With the software that comes with it, all I have to do is keep a format and fill in based on that format.Labels are cheap, you don’t need to buy the “brother” brand labels. Love the ability to use different size width tape and the many color options available.Never had a jam, never had any issues that couldn’t be solved quickly. Very easy to use.
