Nice to fill in gaps and save sealant
I had a number of gaps to try to seal in an partially finished basement. Ended up getting various sizes of Backer Rods to accommodate the different gap sizes. Glad I did. This works as good as the name brand stuff. As far as durability, guess only time will tell. Seems to be comparable quality to the name brand though.

Money saver
The backer rod was used to fill the expansion joint cracks in my concrete driveway before caulking. The backer rod allowed me to control the depth of the joint to be caulked, thus controlling the amount of expensive caulking being used.

Helps reduce amount of caulking used
Stuff this down the cracks and then apply caulk. So simple. You get so much for the price. Great value.

Solid option for crack repair
Purchases this to repair some deep cracks in our cement driveway. Was easy to use. Appears to be very durable. Not hollow so I don't need to worry about it caving in. Does not come in a spindle or anything...looks like someone just cuts 100 feet and shoves it in a box.
