Bought this immediately after receiving my Garmin Varia RTL515. This is the accessory Garmin should provide with the Varia device but don't. The Varia itself doesn't have an attachment point for a lanyard/ tether. This is its one design flaw. The case has a dedicated attachment point for a lanyard and one is provided which I loop onto my saddle rails. The case itself fits the Varia perfectly and provides a robust cover to prevent damage and provide weather protection. In summary, if you have a Garmin Varia RTL515 you need to buy this or something like it but it should be provided by Garmin in my opinion.

The cover fits fine and the Varia works as normal with it on. The lanyard is a very useful security addition as it's an expensive piece of kit to lose on a bumpy ride!

This makes so much more sense to use this. If my Varia comes off the mount, which is unlikely, this will stop it flying away as it’s clipped in very well and I tether it to my bike seat.

Really useful bit of kit, although in the wet and slightly muddy conditions, its a nuisance to clean around and inevitably gets removed to do a proper job… but as a riding colleague put it, also useful if you have an off and want to make sure you can prove that you had a rear light… far less likely to ping off… and harder to swipe quickly too if you were a passing crook…

This is great, my varia fell off once and I didn't want it to happen again. A nice solution! I didn't want to buy a new mount. I can't confirm whether it affects the range of the Varia, the radar still appears to work as well as it did before I fitted the cover.

My first Garmin didn't have a safety cord, but my latest one does.I wasn't aware that my rear garmin could also be secured by purchasing this cover.I am very pleased that if the fixings for my expensive garmins fail, they won't fall off and smash.Wish I had known sooner. Easy to loop around my saddle rail and my Varia just clicks into this cover.Great product for the money, and does what it is supposed to do.

I fits perfectly and does not affect the light or the radar performance.The cord adds extra security for the Varia light in case of the mount failing.
