My New Favorite Safety Razor
I've been using safety razors now for about five years. And during this time I have been looking for the perfect razor for me. Now, if you are new to the whole wet shaving thing you need to understand that not all razors will work the same for everyone, nor blades, not soap and so on. So even great products with impeccable reputation might not be right for you.During this time I have tried over five vintage Gillette razors, an Edwin Jagger, Lords, several off brand Russian and Chinese razors and a couple of Merkurs. Some great some not so much. I decided to give this Qshave a try since reviews were so favorable and the price was so low, and for me this is the best bang for your buck. Actually, it has given me the best shave I've ever gotten from a safety razor. The construction of this thing is solid and precise. The one I received aligned the blade perfectly and I did not had to fiddle with it. Although some may find the handle a bit short, it is good enough for daily use. Besides, only a few razors out there will bring a longer handle out of the box. The finish is second only to the Edwin Jagger I own, which is almost a work of art. It closed very secured and although not a heavy razor, it hold its own against other similar razors. Certainly heavier than most other far east, Lord, and bakelite models I've used.Where this thing shines is where you need it, the shave. Although not aggressive by any mean, it whacked my coarse beard clean with absolutely no irritation. For me it stroke the perfect balance and I could not believe it did such a wonderful job shaving without the slightest sensation of burn. I must be clear and point out I did not use the provided blades and opted for my regular Wilkinson blades. But compared to all the razors I've used with this same blade, this one jumped atop of the list and will continue to be my go to razor even over razors more than five times the price. Well done!

I really wanted to like this basic razor.
Update#2: I'm done with Qshave. I ordered a 2nd razor after the replacement of my first defective razor is OK but the third one is being returned because on one side of the razor, the blade doesn't sit flush in the cap. The blade ends bend down as if there isn't enough space for the blade. I tried a couple different blades and same thing. I suggest if you own this razor look close and see if you're blade ends are bowing down. I am also returning their adjustable razor because of uneven blade reveal...sad but true.Update: I was promptly provided a replacement razor and the new one is what I was hoping for. It is all in alignment and gives a better (little more aggressive) shave than my Weishi butterfly razor. I'm going to order a 2nd one soon because they are compact, solid and just a tad bit aggressive.I was looking for a smaller and inexpensive DE razor for travel. I like everything about this razor except one of the most important things is a problem. With or without a blade installed, you can visibly see that one side does not present the blade/blade opening in an parallel manner with the comb/safety guard and top cap. The gap between the blade and the comb isn't even across the length of the blade. It is so much so, it is noticeable with the naked eye. The one side is visibly good (pic 1) but one side is not (pic 2). In the 2nd pic the gap is narrower on the left side.

Great blade handle
I like this blade handle due to the angle you get once you tighten the blade. Stays put and doesnt get loose. However, you will need a towel when loosening and replacing the blade. The towel will act as a barrier - there is no other safe way to replace the blade unfortunately. You could easily slice your fingers/hand when loosening. But overall is a good blade handle.

Blades were bending in this holder but it’s not the fault of the holder.
Bought several of these of these for my studio as I have returned to more reusable tools to be more ecological and more reliable. The blades that come with the razor curl a bit but are usable. another brand i bought curled even more and were unusable. The best fit should have a little play. The best blades I have found for this are “FEATHER NEW HI-STAINLESS” every one has fit perfectly. You can never go wrong with Japanese stuff.Don’t worry this deal isn’t too good to be true. Excellent value. There will be some minor nearly unnoticeable blemishes. Also If you’re using this one in the shower you might want to find some kind of rubbery grip tho. Even though theres a textured grip, the chrome finish is thick and slippery.l when wet and soapy.Only left to see how many autoclave cycles they can endure.

Cheap flimsy possibly dangerous
Very thin and flimsy metal. For some reason does not create the correct angle for optimal shaving. But the worst thing is that the blades stick out along the short side leaving corners of blades exposed. Seems not safe. Will return this product

No plastic & a better MUCH cheaper shave.
Took a bit of getting used to. Had a couple of nicks at first but realized I hadn't tightened the blade in place completely. My bad there fo' sure. Been using for a month or so now with no issuesFunny but this is the same style of razor I used when beginning to shave in the 60's. Full circle now and am happy not to be adding to the plastic pollution problem at least when shaving.Besides the low price of this razor, the cost of replacement blades is miniscule compared to the cost of the many plastic based razors out there that are in fact less effective (even though they claim that their multiple blade creations are necessary to get a close shave, total advertising BS).Verify satisfying shave & it's a small step towards eliminating the pernicious issues with plastic pollution in our world.

A Piece of Junk
The head of my razor had two sharp edges -- on the frame! I put a new Astra blade in the razor and tightened it. The ends of the blade felt sharp enough to cut . The ends of the blades, not the edges! Did my razor warp that blade when it was put in the razor? Dunno. When the handle was tightened on the head it did not tighten easily. That's another problem. I discarded the razor without shaving.
