Not insanely hot - reasonably priced, tasty and fresh, with a good expiry date too!
Like so many others on here I bought this for some serious (wild garlic) Kimchi making. Have to say it has worked very well having a nice gentle heat that builds as the Kimchi matures. It is described as coarse but in reality it is still well ground with a fine-ish flake that IS coarser than it would be if it was finely ground (!!) but it really isn't THAT coarse.This bag weighs a whole pound, so you get loads for your money and in my case the expiry date was over a year hence so even if I wasn't chucking it in/on everything (which I am!) it would last for a good while. As well as a nice heat level it tastes good too and has a bright red colour which I equate with it being fresh - so it's a good all round purchase with which I am more than happy.

Very nice and tasty product I am happy with my purchase tho a little expensive. But you need to be careful of best before date. I dont have much time to finnish this product.
