and although it looks like you get a lot of paint in each pan ...
I purchased these from Amazon, I have ordered from BIC warehouse in the past and waited weeks for the delivery.Amazon delivered the item four days from my ordering, along with additional items I had ordered, the packaging was secure and did not involve endless reams of brown paper, but packed with bubble bags.I was first introduced to metallic watercolour paint when I purchased the Kuritake Gansai watercolours, also through Amazon. At first I doubted whether I would use these and had the paints for some time before I tried the metallics out. I found that adding a small amount to greeting cards which I had painted worked really well, but the metallics of which there are 4 were white, silver, bronze and gold and I wanted some colours. The Yasutomo Pearlesecent watercolour paints shown in the Amazon picture and the description given not only covered the colours i wanted but has also proven to be accurate. The paint box itself is very light in weight, the pans are not removable, and although it looks like you get a lot of paint in each pan which is about the size of a 2 pence coin, as other reviewers have pointed out it is probably just a thin layer of paint, but what you have got to bear in mind it is unlikely you are going to use these paints on a whole picture, but use as an enhancer along with your normal watercolour paints.I tested these out by first making a colour chart, and before starting I lightly sprayed the paints, I found that they mixed really well, and were of a creamy texture. The colours are true to those shown in the pans, and also mix well to make additional colours, so 21 colours will become many more.A great buy and I would highly recommend them if like me you enjoy using other mediums in your work.

BEAUTIFUL COLOURS AND FINISH
I love these watercolours and their great variety of hues. They give a subtle pearlescent finish when used. The amount of colour in each pan is shallow, which I was aware of from reading the reviews before purchasing. That is fine for how I wish to use them and I think they are excellent value, so even for people who wish to use them for larger scale work, you cannot go wrong - just buy more!

Good but not easy to use
Very good colours but more of a 'sheen' than metallic in some respects. For example, to use the light colours I need to have a light shining on the artwork so that I can see the application but they are good and bring the artwork to life under light. Good amount of colours for the price and do compliment my other metallic paints so am peased I bought them.

I was not disappointed in the results I got on my watercolor projects
I was not disappointed in the results I got on my watercolor projects .. the finish was quite subtle .. you can get more of the metallic look if you were to add several layers. The paint in the pans are quite shallow but for the price and the color range you get I would buy this product again...

Cheap and cheerful pearlescent watercolour
There's a nice colour range in this product. The quality is mediocre; there is not a huge amount of pigment in them, and the blocks themselves are small and shallow. You pay a good deal more for Coliro, and you get a good deal more. Still, this is a nice supplement to my Coliro golds, offering a range of colours for a modest price.

Avoid
Really bad quality paints. Look great in the box but are terrible to use and poor colour. Waste of money.

worth considering
This is not solid pans of colour - despite the photo. The circle of pans are coated in coloured mica like spray painting a wall. This means when you add water to the mica it gives the shimmering watercolour paint that you would expect. I have used this mica paint, and I am surprised how long it is lasting, as it is only a coating of paint on the palette, so do not be put off. There seems to be various similar products scaled with various prices, H2O's being one of the most expensive. The question you need to ask is how often will you use this? If you use shimmer watercolours alot there may not be enough to use over a long period of time but if you touch up pictures to give a contrast on your watercolour paintings, then this product is well worth considering.
