Scaling Up Made Easy - Practical Tools for Small Business Growth and Success
Donald Miller's "How to Grow a Small Business" is a great resource for entrepreneurs who want practical advice on how to grow their businesses. The book is easy to read, digest and implement. The advice has an immediate impact on growing my business, and can do the same for yours as well.I liked how thoughtfully the book was organized using the metaphor of the business as an airplane, with the parts of the airplane each relating to the essential parts needed to grow your business, including leadership (cockpit), sales and marketing (engines), products (wings), operations (body), and finance (fuel). The section on cash flow management was particularly helpful to me as a marketer since it's not often included in business guides for marketing professionals. One of my favorite things about this book is how Miller draws on his own personal experience. He knows what he's talking about - he was already a best-selling author before diving into the world of business consulting. His insights and guidance are based on real-life experience, which makes them all the more valuable and relatable.Another thing I appreciate about Miller's approach is how he challenges misconceptions about what types of businesses can benefit from structured, repeatable processes. He argues that processes can benefit almost any type of business, even creative ones. And he provides solid frameworks for each part of your business, using plenty of examples to back up his point. These frameworks are proving to be invaluable to me.If you’re an entrepreneur who wants a smart, inspiring guide to taking your businesses to the next level, I recommend "How to Grow a Small Business." It's conversational, engaging, and provides actionable guidance you won't want to miss.

Great Game Plan for Operating and Growing a Business
I am a big fan of Donald Miller's ability to clearly communicate his thoughts on operating and growing a business. This book is a nice guide to think of the various parts of a business that are critical to its' growth. Start here and then go deeper on the specific business tactics with other materials including Donald's Story Brand framework for sales & marketing. I especially liked the later section on managing finances as the business grows. Worthwhile read for any business owner or operator.

Transform Your Small Business with the Clear and Easy-to-Follow Framework in This Book
I picked up "How to Grow Your Small Business" by Donald Miller because I work with a lot of small business owners who feel overwhelmed by the day-to-day logistics of running their own business. This book is exactly what they need to get back on track. Miller presents a clear and easy-to-understand framework that can be applied to any business, no matter the industry. What I appreciated most about this book is that Donald Miller doesn't just provide general advice, but rather he offers specific strategies for finding and hiring the best candidates, organizing your company structure, identifying and reaching your key customers, and increasing capacity to better serve your customers. These are all areas my clients struggled with.I also appreciated that he writes from experience. He knows firsthand the frustration of being pulled in different directions as a small business owner and shares his hard-won wisdom with readers. The book is written in an engaging and conversational style, making it a pleasure to read.

the most practical and useful small business book I have ever read
(Please see subject headline)--that is it, pretty much. And the companion online worksheets are a fantastic touch. I have been reading Donald Miller since his "Blue Like Jazz," so I'm a fan, anyway...but he is top tier in his business offerings, hands down.

A fantastic book for the small business owner
I bought this book because our company went through a though time with 10 week delay of one of our best selling product. I hated the first five pages about a small business being like an airplane but the rest of the book is pure gold for a small or medium size business. I will implement a lot of these suggestions and especially the ideas with marketing sales and cash flow (we already did a few things with the cash flow. The book is really a light and quick read but hopefully the ideas in the book will stay implemented in your for years to come. Good luck and never forget small business owners are one of the most important wheel in the economy and the way for you to have a job you love and the freedom to schedule your own time. Good luck.
