A thing of beauty…
I was uncertain about purchasing a clock with recorded chimes. In the past I’ve heard some awful examples, cheap and tinny. So, I was extremely pleased to hear my Seiko clock chime - the full chime envelope is captured so that the sound is very convincing indeed. Adjusting the chime volume to fit your room size enhances the authenticity. Personally I like the Whittington chime but they’re both great. The clock finish is second to none - a beautiful piece of furniture. Of course the advantage of a quartz action is that it’s highly accurate. Mine has gained 20 seconds in five weeks so I’m not unhappy. The pendulum adds a convincing touch. All-in-all a beautiful item that will bring joy for a long time. Not cheap but worth the money.

Magnificent Clock
I was looking for a high quality clock that was certain to last a long time. I already knew of Seiko's good reputation with clocks. With that in mind, I was finally persuaded to purchase this clock after reading the other positive reviews. Needless to say, I am immensely impressed with my purchase and do not regret buying this clock at all. This clock itself is most definitely worth the money in my opinion. Made of solid walnut wood, the simple yet elegantly designed casing of the clock, and the ornate clock face really do make the clock stand out in the room. The wooden shade of the clock is lighter than pictured. The clock is far larger than I had expected it to be, but this only proved to be a pleasant surprise. The chimes of the clock, both the Westminster and Whittington, sound very realistic, and chime on the quarter hour too.You would never have guessed that this is a battery operated clock - it does not tick, but it is the quality chimes that make you second guess. This truly is the most beautiful, and certainly the best clock I have ever purchased, and I highly recommend it to you.

Beautiful
A beautiful well made clock, I am very pleased with it and love the Whittington chime in particular. The only comment I would make against the clock is the speed of the pendulum, which to me is slightly fast, however, I contacted the seller and he replied the same day with the reason, which is due to the manufacturer. Still love the clock and the prompt reply from the seller, top marks to him (Jason). I am still pleased I purchased the clock and the quick delivery.

truly a piece of art.
first for all lets start with the price, I know that the price is a wee bit higher than expected but you should believe me it's worth every single penny. The package comes with the clock and battery is included, the pendulum is placed in a white bag in the box and it is separated from the main clock, wrapped with red tape.Actually, to be honest you don't need any instructions to attach the pendulum. However, there is a small instructions booklet , which comes with the clock. There are two lovely sound modes, and you can select them through a small switch at the back. The volume can be adjusted, believe me when the adjustment is on max the sound is really loud. There is a night mode, during night the clock does not produce any sound. However, when the volume is adjusted on low mode it is very difficult to experience any noise at night, I tested. (when you sleep in a different room of course!).the clock wooden box is truly a piece of art, is well crafted and detailed. It would be an excellent choice if you select it.

Just wow.
I bought an antique chiming clock at an auction, back when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. A friend repaired it for me and it sort of worked, but was highly erratic in its timekeeping. Anyway, when it last wheezed to a stop, I decided it was time to retire the old one and buy one that does not need winding up (and doesn’t wind me up by being inaccurate :-). This one looks terrific has a pendulum and excellent chimes, either Westminster chimes, or Whittington ones, selected by a switch. But best of all it is deadly accurate so far, the only thing I miss is that this one doesn’t tick, but I can live with that. The case is wooden and excellently made and the clock can be set to only chime during sensible hours and keep quiet at night. On full volume it is astoundingly loud (like being in Parliament Square :-), fortunately a volume control allows you to choose any volume from zero to apocalyptic.
