Good quality product, great delivery, very pleased.Now I know, I will be using this company again for another project.

Very simple to install. XP and W7 automatically correctly detect it and assign a virtual serial port to it. In my case port 7 on W7 and port 5 on XP... but that might be dependent on existing hardware. I bought this to interface with a Watkins-Johnson communications receiver that I plan to write control software for. Being over 25 years old, the receiver has the industry-standard DB25 serial port on the back, so the inclusion of a DB9-DB25 adapter with the USB-serial adapter sounds nice. HOWEVER, and this is where the 'buyer-beware' flag goes up... the supplied adapter swaps the RXD and TXD signals. This effectively renders the device useless unless, like me, you have the knowledge on how to rig up something to reverse this swap or use a straight-through DB9 to DB25 serial cable.

Solid kit. Bought one of these for connecting to switches and routers from various manufacturers. Works fantastically.Works out of the box with Linux as well.Tested on a Checkpoint firewall and various Cisco kit.

I ordered this with the expectation of failure.It installed instantly and fine on my 64-bit Windows 8 and was assigned a COM port.However the specific application or device I need to use it with didn't work. (Promethean Presenta interactive white board seems incompatible.)Next stop... a PCIe x1 Startech serial card... Fingers crossed.Sadly I don't have any other serial device to test with so I can't tell if it is just my devices that are incompatible or the USB serial adapter was faulty.

Good adapter does the job

The driver installs and can be seen by the computer but refuse to connect to devices (known to be working) via DB9 or DB25

Took a minute for first time setup and works perfectly without any problems. If you want to convert to USB from serial this is the cable.

Habe diesen Adapter genutzt, um einen alten Akustikkoppler (Dataphon) für ein Projekt wieder zu benutzen. Per USB am Mac angeschlossen konnte der Adapter sofort genutzt werden. (Im Terminal ls /dev/tty.* eingeben für die Liste der seriellen Geräte, dort findet man Adapter als tty.usbserial-****)Will man mit dem Gerät kommunizieren, einfach z.B.screen /dev/tty.usbserial-**** 300eingeben (Sternchen durch individuelle Nummer ersetzen, 300 steht für die Übertragungsrate 300 baud, das ggf. anpassen). Alles sehr unkompliziert!Perfekt, so wie ich mir das vorgestellt habe!

ad un prezzo conveniente, la connessione USB - Seriale RS232 DB9/DB25. Per ogni collegamento con periferiche non più gestibili con altri PC.
