Q: Is this the curry sauce they use in chippies

Yes! This is the one I used in the chippy more than 40 years ago - delighted to find it here. Shocked it has gone up £15 since I bought it!

Q: Is this the same as Irish curry sauce sold in chippys

I believe the Irish Curry Sauce is smooth, with no bits. This one has raising, apple and pineapple in it, and is absolutely delicious. Bit shocked to see it's gone up a tenner since I bought my tub though!

Q: Can someone please advise an indicative 'use by' date, so I can understand how long a tub will last/ needs to be used by?

depends how much you use as to how long it lasts but as for use by date ignore as it is only for a guide I have had mine for 9 months and still going strong no problem

Q: Do you make this like instant gravy?

Sort of, it tub gives you directions for 1 litre using 60 grams of powder, I just make 1/4 of a litre so this tub is going to last me a long time, hehe. Basically I mix 15 grams of gravy powder with 1/4 litre of water them put the mix in a pan and bring to boil whilst stirring continuously to avoid lumps forming. After it has come to boil simply simmer for one minute.

Best gravy around.

I have used this gravy mix for the past 10 years plus since my mother in law introduced me to it. Since she can no longer get it, I have found it on Amazon, and couldn't believe my luck. I share this tub with my daughter who also uses it all the time. The taste is wonderful on any kind of meal you want to add it to. It also lasts a long time as the tub is large and you don't need a vast amount to make your gravy. I recommend this gravy to everyone.

The best gravy

I always use Batchelors gravy. It tastes wonderful and never goes lumpy (my customers often remark on how nice it is). It is getting hard to buy in the shops, hence the hike in price I guess. However, the end result is worth the extra!

Damaged seal/granules everywhere

Seal broken on arrival and granules everywhere when I opened the plastic package. 2nd time purchased in 3 years and 2nd time it has arrived like this. Worried that item has been tampered with prior to arrival

Lovely, thick, silky, tasty
