MillerMed Home Test Kit for Cholesterol, HDL and LDL Cholesterol Plus Triglycerides [Meter/Case/Strips/Consumables All Included]

Bought this as my wife had a quick cholesterol test at Doctors which was high. Therefore they did a blood test which was sent to hospital for testing. We wanted to keep an eye on her cholesterol so bought the MillerMed as it gave all the required results at a reasonable price. We did a test with it which was quite easy from the quick instructions and video on MillerMed website. Her results came back from the hospital and we were very pleased with how well they compared. That’s why I submitted this review as it is definitely an instrument that is good value, relatively easy to use and reasonably priced.Further to my last review I myself have had a hospital cholesterol test as I am type 1 diabetic and take statins. I also took a test with the MillerMed meter to compare the results. The hospital results are shown with the meter results in brackets. Units in mmol/L. Total Cholesterol 4.5 (4.43), HDL 1.85 (1.53), LDL 2.65 (2.64) Triglycerides 0.80 (0.57). I think this shows how good the meter can be as a home check.Don’t understand how the person giving this meter one star went about it! Obviously didn’t follow the instructions correctly or get his finger warm or took a large enough blood sample. You just present the blood to the tip and it will be sucked by capillary action to the black mark. If it doesn’t get to the mark just get more blood and present it until get to the mark. I’ve let 2 other people use this meter and never had a failure. In fact one of them had such a high reading she made a doctor’s appointment and had a blood test which highlighted numerous other issues.

It took a little while to navigate the instructions, as this can be used to test for other things but, it wasn’t long before I was testing.My only negative was getting the lancet working but, I have others which worked producing sufficient blood.The additional test strips, which come in packs of 2 are only available from Miller, so it appears. Don’t forget adding 20% for VAT for their prices so over £90 for 2 packs of 5 lipid test strips. Other tests are very much cheaper.This in mind, the Amazon purchase worked out economical for a device that does what I need and simply too.I would recommend this product.I have both cholesterol and uric acid issues so full lipid profile is essential whilst on a specialised diet.

Accurate reading, it takes some time the first time you use it, but then it’s fine. The user manual could be made more intuitive.

It give a fairly accurate result. I had an issue with the battery showing low, even if I put in new batteries.The company could not have been more accommodating to resolve the issue.Top marks.

Seems to work well, good agreement with lab results. No problem taking blood sample with included lancet and syringes

At first I could not get the machine to work but their customer service has been excellent and replied me even at night and the next day to ensure I was happy.Remember to put the strip in till you hear a click.I used the machine and it was the same reading as the blood test I took at the laboratory..I have now started to ensure, I bring my cholesterol level down.Highly recommended and easy to use.

Their cholesterol machine is very accurate and delivery was fast and efficient. They were also available to answer all my question. Thank You so much MillerMed

This product works very well and appears to give an accurate reading. The only downside is the price of replacement test strips and pipettes. It costs approximately £57 to order five more tests.
