Works very well, but pouches are difficult to open.
Works well, but the little bags are very hard to open once you've torn them free from the spool. In fact tearing them free from the spool can be challenging without destroying them if you don't pay close attention. Also note that these do not create waterproof or even airtight pouches. They are perforated and you end up with a little pouch that's very easy to open, which I think is a very good thing depending on who is the end user of the little packets that you create with this thing. It's a decent system at a very good price. Just takes a little work to open each bag and make your little pill pouches, but worth it to prep in advance.

But yourself some rubber finger tips
I like the product over all. But these are things I don’t like:Separating the tiny bags is a pain. I bought rubber finger tips (office supply) and pinch the bag openning while rubbing back and worth. Without this you’ll feel like you’re at the produce area of the market trying to open their plastic produce bags. 😡The round cylinder in which you are to separate your pills and easily stick spout into bag is not designed to keep your pills from travel from one compartment to the other. Can’t tell you how many times I had to reload pills. I no longer use the plastic cylinder with pockets. An empty egg crate works best. Open bags and place in individual pockets and fill for as many days as you want.So what I like about it is sealing the packets which turns out to be the best when traveling. The things I didn’t like I overcame.Don’t think I would recommend for a “short on patience” person.

Great and useful tool
I love this kit both as a vitamin taker and as a trusted care provider for my aging parents. For both my parents and with the pandemic, ensuring that my parents feel safe and confident in the handling of their prescriptions and dietary supplements. This becomes increasingly difficult with aging parents who might be losing focus and their grip strength. .I use these pill packs for both morning and afternoon prescription packs for both ... as well as vitamin packs for myself.Note that if one’s doctor or health care service provider has advised or recommended use of a RN or the use of a pharmacy / commercial pill pack service, you should follow their suggestions.A couple of things I’ve learned in using these packs. First prepare lists for morning and evening packs; describe the the color, size and markings on the pills; the packsare clear, so this helps preserve confidence that each pack has the pills it is supposed to have. This will be something of a cheat sheet. Second, use different colored permanent ink pens for each parent and different colors for morning and evening packs. Third, label each pack clearly - you could use printer labels if you have a color printer. Or by hand if they or their caregivers can read your handwriting. The label should include their names, morning or evening, the day of the week to be taken, and the date to be taken. Do these labels before filling the packs. Fifth, depending on how you fill and seal the packs, the perforation should be at the top or bottom of the pack; either is fine so long as when the packs are opened, this is done over a hard surface - put down a clean napkin to avoid the pills rolling off the surface. When labeling the packs, use a red or other color permanent marker along the perforated edge to highlight where they should be tearing the packet open. You’d be surprised that this line can be harder for some older parents and care providers to see when it isn’t marked. And do this gently - you don’t want to accidentally tear the perforation.

Disappointed
The media could not be loaded. Honest review…sorry it’s long.I wanted to like this product, I thought it would ultimately make my life easier by being able to prep mine and my kids meds longer than our weekly pill storage. The Amazon box wasn’t damaged, but the product box itself had some wear to it. No biggie. The items inside seemed dusty, I thought maybe cardboard from the box? The way the pill dispenser is designed, it’s difficult to remove the top. Anyone with dexterity issues or older folks may not even be able to remove it without assistance. Keeping that in mind, it also takes a little force to turn the top to each new compartment. I’m not sure how you’re supposed to hold the bag in place and turn the top. I also noticed that the bags are so thin that in the process of tearing them from the roll, they would frequently (10/20) tear across the “easy open” perforation, thus destroying the bag. The 10 bags I did tear off without destroying, didn’t seal properly. It was like the machine only heated one side, very uneven heating.I have no idea if this single item was just defective, maybe I got a returned item, or if this just isn’t what I expected for $36. Ultimately I returned the product. Far more hassle than helpful.

Great way to make custom vitamin packs
This is a great little system for making your own custom vitamin or pill packs. The included sorter makes it easy to fill the pouches. Then you just lay the open side of the bag in the sealing unit and press the button until the light turns off. It can be a bit time consuming if you are doing a lot of them at one time and the pill pack bags are a little tricky to open without tearing the perforation, but overall, this came in real handy. I used it to take a week's worth of supplements on vacation and still be able to have my usual container filled and waiting at home when I got back.
