It’s not just a storage solution but a work of art in itself. The stitching is immaculate, the leather is supple yet sturdy, and it feels like something made by a master craftsperson. It keeps the tools organized, protected, and ready to use—a subtle yet significant detail that adds to the overall experience of using this kit. The tools themselves are incredibly well-made. From the solid handles to the razor-sharp edges, every piece screams quality. The blades are precise and hold their sharpness impressively well, allowing for intricate detailing and smooth carving across various wood types. Awesome collection of tools
Certainly an upgrade for me, only recently got into the hobby only only had a couple of carving tools before this set. A few of those were beavercraft already so I knew what to expect quality wise (which is good in my opinion). You get a more than generous array of quality carving tools in beautiful carry case, front pouch has sharpening compound and strops, plenty of room in there for you to add things like sandpaper.Only slight things to mention is the tools came with varying degrees of sharpness out of the box, not a huge issue, I'd usually expect to sharpen tools anyway just to note in case you're expecting to use them all straight away. The handles are unfinished, which isn't uncommon but I'd recommend putting some protective oil/wax on them so they last longer.Would make a very generous gift or treat to level up your hobby. Love it, would recommend.

Nice, but pricey set
I'm was just getting thehang of woodcarving when I spotted this set which had a much larger selection of knives than I had so I figured 'why not?'...Upon receiving the kit, my first impressions were very good. It comes in a leather case which is perhaps a good bit larger than it really needs to be given that the 9 knives are held in place in a leather holding strip and there is a significant gap between each tool. So despite the case being very nice, I'd say the size reduces the practicality of the set, particularly as the listing has a picture of a guy out in the woods about to carve something - I reckon you'd need a greater amount of tools than knives alone (saws, hatchets etc) so keeping the set more compact (in a roll for example) would increase its practicality. The knives in the kit are primarily different blade lengths and shapes with a couple of gouges and a drawknife. The quality throughout is really nice, although the blades could have been a lot sharper out of the box. The steel seems decent but I'm not sure I would say it is high end quality (upper mid quality perhaps). The handles are (I think) walnut and are extremely nicely shaped and smoothed - theres no sign of rough edges at all; all of the handles are unfinished so you have the option of using them as they are or perhaps putting a bit of linseed or danish oil on them to help protect the wood.Accessories wise, other than the case, you get a nice heavy double sided leather strop and 3 grades of polishing compound (brown, white and green) to hone the blades with.So far as woodcarving kits go, this one is pretty comprehensive, the selection of knives will cater for most of your needs unless you are doing something particularly unusual. A diamond hone would have been a useful addition as you will certainly need one to keep them sharp.Overall this is really a very nice kit...its not cheap at around £200 but you do have to pay for quality. Its more than just a beginners set too, it will serve your purposes well beyond that level.

Lovely
This is definitely a top end carving kit but some of the tools could have been sharper, an hour with the stones sorted them out though. The case is generous in size and I keep little blocks of wood in it for whittling.A nice selection of knives which are ideal for creating your masterpieces!
