Fun Ghostly Ship-Halloween Build
This version of The Flying Dutchman was a lot of fun. I love the color scheme and the lights. There were no missing pieces. Instructions are easy enough to follow. Some of these sets require a little more pressure to put pieces together than Lego sets but they are still easy. I would suggest holding the base in your hand and supporting both sides. Start off with just a little pressure and gently press it together. You build up the sides of the ship and the base is not real wide so you don’t want to topple it while working on one side. It sits just fine for displaying though once finished. The lights are really cool. They are connected with tiny wires and connectors plugged into a small board. I was extra careful because had not done one with lights before but it was simple and turned out great. You store the board and wires inside the cabin area and it plugs in by usb. It’s stable when moving it once finished and for what I paid it was a great price.I just finished another ship set from this same company that had over 3,000 pieces and all pieces were there on that one too. It was also fun. So, so far, this company gets an A+ in my opinion.

Awesome pirate ship!
This took a few days to put together because there are lots of small parts, but the end result was worth it! It did come with green lights, however, I unintentionally nicked the wire when trying to place them. So I used some other green lights I had. I added a couple of figures of my own to add to the look. Love it and looks great!

Not bad at all. Very happy with the end product
Ok. I’m very happy with this set but let me explain the 4 stars. I know it’s in me to look at the dimensions but I didn’t and it was definitely smaller than I thought it would be. But aside from that the build has been pretty great. No missing parts which I appreciate because it’s not LEGO and I can’t order more. I did have to glue a couple of pieces for my own sanity because they just would stay but that’s me. I feel like it’s better for older kids so the age rating tracks. Mostly easy to put together, although some parts took alittle extra elbow grease to get together. But all told pretty cool.

Not without its flaws, this was still a great build for the price.
If I did anything different, I would super glue the cannons down as I went along. The later they shake loose in the build, the more frustrating. The front end is held on by a single block, which could also probably be glued, but that’s a minor complaint.. I also didn’t bother with the “ropes” between the masts. This was a lot of fun overall, and looks great on the shelf.

Cool, but the design should be better
So first of all its a great looking Lego build, however it does not stay together well and it is so tedious to build. In the end there were a few small items missing nothing major. But the front of the ship kept falling apart. no way would it hold up to being picked up and moved. I used this as a fish tank decoration so after the front of the ship kept falling apart I just glued the pieces together. filled it full of rocks and dropped it in my tank. but basically its cool if you glue it together but they didn't engineer this to hold together well. Directions were challenging in some areas. The lego blocks stuck together good and the lights worked well.

Challenging. Looks great. Short cord for lights
Challenging build. NOT LEGO style. Lights up with very short cord. Looks awesome

Really bad engineering here.
The build experience on this was so horrendously aggravating I had to wait a full 2 weeks to write a review. Before I launch into this I will acknowledge that this is my FIRST kit from this manufacturer, so this kit may be their "bad apple" kit and/or I might have gotten a lemon of a kit. I will give their brand another try at some point but I am in no rush due to this kit.The completed model is absolutely beautiful! and that's all the good I can say. From the jump this ship is unnecessarily complex, The bottom of the hull is two single row pieces on which you create two rows of the same piece over and over and over... I mean why not just cast a hull? The two sides are then connect ONLY at the front which makes your next several steps VERY frustrating as the base keeps sliding back and forth and breaking.Half the aggravation of this kit is the bricks themselves, they simply are not cast correctly. About every 7th piece I was having to either use a small hammer or create impressions on my thumbs from pushing so hard just to get the bricks to set. Now you'd think with that kind of difficulty getting them to connect this model would NEVER come apart, and you'd be wrong. The last few pages of directions I was cussing out the designers and engineer's who created this thing as every time I'd be trying to connect something or place something another part was falling off.The directions have you running the tiny wires underneath and through brick connections, which leads to cut wires as they are so damn tiny. Also the whole triple lantern rear piece falls off simply by being nudged. This deserved its own mention as it has completely turned me off to this manufacturer: The front "mouth assembly"... Dear GOD what a freaking nightmare! I joke you not the ENTIRE bottom assembly for the mouth is held on a a SINGLE DOT connection! no exaggeration if you so much as bump the piece after it is put together it WILL break off, and break apart. The top section is BARELY any better, it has two dots for connection but it will also fall off with a slight bump. I never even thought to use super glue in lego builds until this model and I am convinced the manufacturer either has no QA team or just went "Ehh super glues a thing".I bought two of these for my sons birthday so we could build them together, I then opened the box and realized I goofed as this was well out of his league (He's 7) so instead I built his while he helped me sort the bags. I had to stop at the halfway point as this kit had me so angry I was ready to throw it into the garbage. His ship broke the minute he picked it up (Aforementioned jaw thing) and when we tried to fix it the mast broke, fixing that led to the jaw falling off and the front mast toppling over. At this point we put it on a shelf, put the pieces in a box, and haven't been back since, and my model still remains sealed in its box.I have since purchased super glue and Electrical tape and I will attempt a permanent "repair" at some point.
