Really good popcorn maker.
The media could not be loaded. *** Update - I’ve included a video of the popcorn maker doing its thing. Excuse the recorder - I was capturing the sound effect for a project I’m working on, but I thought this would be good for demonstrating the product in use too.We had something that made popcorn from the mid 80's that sounded like a jet engine was taking off every time you started making popcorn. I mean, the longevity of the device was impressive, but the noise was outrageous.Due to this, I decided to invest in something a bit more modern. I have to say, this is far less noisy thankfully & actually is a lot quicker than the old one too.It doesn't take too long to heat up and make the popcorn & I also enjoy the fact that this is all self contained. My previous popcorn maker liked to violently spew popcorn out of a hole at the front and your kitchen ended up caked in popcorn. You got more on the floor than in the bowl you placed underneath it.The fact this is all made in that little bowl with no mess, far quieter and is easy to clean is a massive help.A couple of things to note though - once the popcorn is done, ensure you remove the bowl quickly and flip it upside down. This is because the base is extremely hot and the popcorn will start to burn very quickly. I'd also not leave this unattended at all whilst in operation or even after until you have grabbed all the tasty tasty popcorn. In summary though, this is exactly what I needed - something self contained, no mess, easy to clean, relatively quiet, simple to use and just works with no faff. the size is also great as it doesn't take up too much room in the kitchen and can be put away and stored elsewhere easily when not being used.I'd really recommend it & have had no issues after using it for a while now. It feels fairly robust, so I have confidence it will last a long time (though perhaps not 30 - 40 years like the last one). You never know though.

Brilliant Popcorn maker. Forget about microwave popcorn
The media could not be loaded. I regret I didn't buy it earlier. So easy to use. Hassle free and safe. We buy organic popcorn kernels and enjoy fresh popcorn almost every day. Machine is very effective and only few kernels remain unpopped. Less risk to burn it than in microwave and I'm sure it's healthier. W big family bowl withing few minutes in one go. I never liked popcorn before because the smell was intense and in a whole house. Now it's nice and clean job and it tastes much better.

Surprisingly good!
Wipes down very easy and makes great popcorn! My black lid didn't fit after the very first batch, but I just turn the bowl over a plate and nothing is really lost.Although this can make popcorn without oil, effectively making this an air fryer, using some kind of oil is much much nicer. I think sunflower oil makes popcorn taste just as good as coconut oil will, though coconut smells much better when cooking.I have around a dozen popcorn flavour shakers but my favourite is pure sugar coating! For super crispy glistening sugar coating try;40g/ml oil60g regular granulated sugar120g popcorn kernelsIf you're using coconut oil, of course let that heat up and melt first, otherwise just put it all together in the maker in no particular order. It'll all cover everything anyway and you end up with shiny (and VERY hot) popcorn. When using sugar you need to be fast when it's finished. As soon as the popping stops for more than 2 seconds, flip the bowl to avoid burning! Then give it time. Sugar is hot. You'll burn fingers and mouths. After 5minutes though you'll have the nicer popcorn than most of the stuff you can buy in the shops.

Great & effortless
I love this popcorn maker. I've had it for 3 yrs now with no issues. The only problem I have now is finding the information for customer service. I have since misplaced the "Black Lid Cap" and until this is replaced I'm unable to use. Any information as to how I can obtain another lid cap will be most appreciated.

I love it even if it hates me
I've been through a lot of popcorn makers. Air poppers. Microwave poppers. This one is my favorite. But I am a clutz and when I flip the bowl over I have twice slipped and touched the hottest part of the metal plate. Scarring occurred. Potholders suggested.Pros:• Pops fast, pops well. 99% of the kernels.• Could add about anything for flavoring on the fly. I throw in some oil and Flavacol.Cons:• The black plate that you flip this onto, that becomes the base for kernels and crumbs to fall into through the holes in the top (now bottom) works right up until you've used it once, and the clear plastic expands from heat, and it won't fit on anymore.• Handles are a little flimsy. Had this for a couple months and they've bent a little. I bend them back but I do worry it's fatiguing the metal.

Bought November 2023. Just melted the bottom of the tray.
I bought this in November and have used it successfully about twice a week. The only minor issue I had was that the black lid didn’t fit properly so I used a tray to put the bowl on. You have to make sure that you turn it off when the popping has slowed to the last one or two, as it does not turn off automatically. Once you get used to that, it makes great popcorn. At least it did until today! I used the on/off button to turn it off and removed the bowl of finished popcorn. As I was eating I started to smell something burning……went back into the kitchen and found that the heating element was red hot. It had not turned off. Usually I would also turn off the electric socket and I had forgotten to do so. The heat has melted part of the underside of the hot plate so it no longer fits smoothly. Now I cannot trust it to be safe to use. This is a disappointment as it was expensive and I spent the money thinking that I would have something that would last.
