Finally, a decent implement to paint fast with no mess!!!!
I don't normally bother with reviews (time....). However, I have struggled for so long to find something decent to paint with, I feel I should share this to save someone else the pain of trying to find something decent - look no further! This paint pad with the added bonus of sanding implements is fantastic!! The removable pad stays on with strong velcro. There is also a piece between the pad and base so this helps to keep paint off the edges (which could otherwise cause drips). For cleaning, you can see the pad is decent, it's soft and pliable and so easy to squeeze out the excess. The size of the pad is perfect. The pad is perfect even after doing an entire kitchen, so definitely reusable, though as it's replaceable, I guess I can buy more if needed. For use - don't overload with paint. Use a tray, gently dip the pad and press a little onto the tray to capture any excess. I find downward motions holding the pad to the side, tip pointing to the left is good - no need to rub up and down. I do have a steady hand, therefore I usually cut in with a brush, though if preferred the straight edge of the pad can be used to gently slide across for an even line. I prefer to take my time with cutting in and then whip around with the pad (each to their own).Comparison with other things I've tried: I recently bought a set of pads (different brand) and the larger pads were just more difficult to manage, awkward and didn't actually help get any more done due to the awkward size. The smaller pads wore out quickly. Others with the detachable pad kept falling off. I'm fussy about the finish - I only use Farrow and Ball paint and don't want cheap implements spoiling the finish. I've bought high-end brushes £16 for a 4" brush. Too heavy - caused rsi and took way too long - rollers, no matter what they say will splatter, even if it's just teeny, tiny hard-to-see bits.
