I can’t tell you how long it takes to melt ice. We plug it in before a snow storm arrives and leave it on until the storm passes. The blanket works great, worth the cost.

Our Powerblanket Lite model PBL500 uses an internal fixed thermostat designed to maintain a blanket temperature of approximately 90° ± (10° F) / 32°C (± 5° C). In theory, yes, you could use our thermostat controller model GHT2002J-FS with this Powerblanket heater but it is not recommended. You don't want to produce too much heat when warming a gas tank and we've done extensive testing to ensure our fixed thermostat is set to an ideal temperature that is safe and effective in warming a gas tank in cold weather.
