Q: Is this the same species that drives cats bonkers?

Yes, but mine arrived unlabelled so I don’t know which is which. Both are growing well in the garden though and am hoping I’ll be able to tell them apart at some point.

Q: Do i need both male and female a. polygama plants or will they be fertilized by the a. arguta plants?

You need male and female. I’ve no doubt different varieties will cross-pollinate. I have more polygama plants from a different source plus several chinensis plants I grew from seed so hopefully there will be at least one male amongst them. Or one female.

Q: When is the best time to put this in the garden?

Hello, April to October would be the best time to plant it out. These are shade tolerant plants and will grow up to 2m length this year. Best wishes, Madeleine

Kiwi vines produce male and female flowers on separate vines and I have no idea which mine are, as they arrived unlabelled. They have been growing well in the garden for a year or two but not flowering yet so I don’t know which sex they are. You need one male for every 8 or so females.
