Dave Mckean: Short Films (Blu-Ray + Book)

An excellent collection from a master craftsman.
After years of waiting, and at least one previous abortive attempt, this collection of Mckean's film work is finally available and well worth the wait. Perhaps more well known for his vast range of print illustrations and photo-digital compositions, 'Short Films' shines a spotlight on this award winning polymaths film projects.Expertly remastered, regraded and in some cases rescored, this treasury of short films, documentaries, music videos and more has never looked better than presented here on bluray. A far cry from the grainy versions floating about on youtube or VHS. The accompanying hardcover book is, as you'd expect from a master designer, a beautiful guide through each piece, featuring in depth background studies into the origin and creation of the work.Ultimately this is a fantastic must-have release for any fan of Mckean, and beyond that anyone with an interest in the obscurer side of surreal short narrative.

UK copy ... seems to be fine with my old Sony Blu-ray player
There has been a few reviews that have had problems with the BluRay disc (on Amazon.com) : I'm based in the UK and with an old Sony Blu-ray and the disk seems to be fine. Certainly have not noticed any glitches with it and all the different menus for music, films, trailers etc all are good. The quality is superb as to be expected from Dave McKean, though they are probably not fun films to watch but they are still very interesting. The book is first rate with lots and lots of images and much more. Totally recommended.

Great Content, no problem with BluRay.
After a good clean (has been a few reviews that have had problems with the BluRay) disc happily plays on my Panasonic. Lots to see here, showing the scope of Dave McKean's artistry and the quality is superb as expected. The book is of course beautifully designed and succeeds in adding to the disc content. I would happilyrecommended this to anyone... Enjoy!

Finally!
Finally available. No more roaming the web for low resolution uploads. The book is beautiful with lots of fun anecdotes by Dave McKean. What a delight!

Faulty Blu-ray Discs!
Sadly... the ‘films’ don’t work on Dave McKean’s ‘Short Films’. This is my second copy, tried on PlayStation, X-Box and a Blu-Ray player and both discs fail to be recognised. Such a shame for what could have been a magnificent publication.
