The Boy Butter website claims it is edible. Ingredients are Partially Hydrogenated Vegetables Oils, Glycerin, Polysorbate 60, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glyceryl Stearate, Phenyl Trimethicone. All of these ingredients are found in food products except the last, which is a type of silicone often used in cosmetics and is also used as a release agent for commercial food preparation. I wouldn't spread it on toast, but it won't hurt you if you swallow it. I haven't tried tasting it myself, but I'd imagine it tastes a bit like hand lotion or hair conditioner.
