The technical answer to your question is yes. LED light is very different from incandescent light. The Illumination Engineering society has NOT changed the way they measure light in 50-6- years, they are working on it. We always use a regular light meter only because there is no other real way without spending a fortune. There are technically many things to consider and they way we precieve light is very different with LEDs. What we look to many times is the manufacturer's info on lumens the fixture produces.
