Exact replacement for our Heat-N-Glo natural gas BAY-INS!
After the heating season, we noticed the standing pilot was good, but the flame wouldn't turn on? My research pointed to a failing thermopile. I replaced it & still no flame? The next suspect part was this, the gas control valve. Our Heat-N-Glo natural gas fireplace insert is 25+ years old & has been working perfectly. In the heating season, this is our primary heat source, with the expensive to operate forced air electric furnace as the backup heat. We run the furnace circulating fan to distribute the heat throughout the house. This has worked out very well for us!First, let me answer my own question. I asked this question, but didn't get an answer:Q - Can the extended control knobs be transferred to the new gas control valve?A - Yes! They just pull off & can be transferred to the new gas control valve! They just slide over the knobs on the new gas control valve. The pros:+ Pretty good customer product reviews.+ Pretty fast free shipping!+ This Robertshaw gas valve NG 060-522 fit perfectly! The cons:- On the expensive side at $199.65!- Installing the replacement gas control valve is not easy, but obviously doable.- The inlet & outlet fittings were a bear to break free!- You get just the gas control valve, no installation instructions at all, so it's up to you to research how to remove the old one & install the new!Closing remarks:▪ You will need an assortment of hand tools to remove & reinstall the gas control valve!▪ The pilot setting is factory set & the access is sealed. Not an issue, as it worked perfectly as set.▪ We used BrassCraft pipe thread sealant to seal the inlet & outlet gas control valve fittings. I thought about using yellow Teflon tape, but opted for the tradition liquid thread sealant, which worked perfectly!▪ Replacing the gas control valve saved us a lot of money & restored our Heat-N-Glo natural gas fireplace insert to full operation!

Worked great
Was the exact gas valve swap out from my 15 year old fireplace, where even 2 extra gas ports top and bottom for different configurations. Only thing different with it was the brand.

Works
This product fits and works perfectly for Heat N Glow Fireplace Model SL-750TR-C, over last couple years I had broken Plastic Pilot control Knob, no one sells that knob, I was able to turn Pilot with help of pliers but this year fireplace refuse to turn on so initially I wasn't going to do it my self, I call few places in New Jersey, not many places deals with fireplace repair, some only do certain brand, one place I found but no appointment available for 2 months and cost to just look at was $225.00 so I decided to repair my self with help from You Tube video title " Heat N Glo SL 750 Repair ". I did not change Thermocouple for pilot as Pilot was running fine. In the pictures I took apart old Valve just for curiosity , don't have knowledge how this valve goes bad and why, I guess after so many years some mechanism in valve get worn out.

Works great
Moved into a house and the fireplace wouldn’t light. This is the part that I needed it was a little tight on the bottom of the fireplace but it installed fairly easily
