Great price, great taste....has almost ZERO carbs.
I use flax seed in lots of cooking. It's especially good in meatloaf and meatballs in place of crackers and it helps as a binding agent, so I can replace adding eggs to those kinds of recipes. I try to reduce carbs in all of my cooking to keep my weight down. Flax seeds contain close to 30% carbohydrates, but almost 100% of those carbohydrates just fiber. This kind of fiber isn't digestible in your body so they don't add to your carb consumption! Ground flax seed adds an excellent texture to foods like those two and makes the meat go a lot farther. I usually use at least 1 cup of flaxseed meal and 1 cup of vital wheat gluten to 2 lbs of hamburger or ground turkey, plus spices and 16 oz of pasta sauce and 1 cup of cheese...LOL, SORRY I'm not trying to give a recipe, but there is is...this makes about 60 or more meatballs...Anyway I love the taste of the entire mixture. I thought I invented it, but after I had it a few times, I discovered that many other people make meatloaf and meatballs in the same way. This flax seed has an excellent taste, smell, and has a nice golden color. I notice when I use in these recipes, I can barely taste it anyway, it just adds a decent texture that compliments the meat. Flax seed is VERY HIGH in omega 3 fatty acids so if you don't eat enough fish, this is an excellent source of Om3s! Also, I used to sometimes buy this as whole seed and grind it myself to save money, but I found this brand and it is by far the least expensive flax seed I have found to date! So, I will definitely purchase it again. I recommend it highly!

High fiber, low carb, gf flour substitute for healthier meals, breads and treats
So happy to have discovered this golden flax meal from a brand I trust. I had really bought it to try a low carb, gf bread recipe, which turned out perfect and has become a game changer in our home. But the taste of this golden flax meal from NOW is mild enough that I started subbing it for 1/2 to 1/3 of the almond flour in my own made up recipes. To make quick gf chicken tenders or chicken breasts for a parm, marsala, etc, I use this instead of bread crumbs and/or flour, combining with sprinkle parm from a green jar along with seasonings, having subbed mayo for an egg wash, and then air frying the chicken till golden. For lower carb chocolate chip cookies sweetened with organic monk fruit liquid, which was also purchased here on amazon, this was what worked for me and was incredibly delicious: 1 stick of butter/1 egg/ 1/2 spoon vanilla creamed together with about 15 drops organic monk fruit sweetener (no falsley labeled "in the raw" or other deceptively marketed fake sugars that tear up stomachs terribly in our home), then 3/4 c almond flour/1/4 c this golden flax flour/1/8 c Ottos cassava flour/1/2 tsp salt/ 1/2 tsp baking powder/ 1/4 c chopped walnuts, added about 1/4 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips.

Great in my smoothies!
I use 2 - 3 tablespoons for a 16 ounce smoothie and don't know it is there as far as taste or mouth feel. Flax seed is very healthy and is very affordable for the omega 3's and fiber it provides. A good buy!

Nice & smooth
I like this so much better than Bob's Red Mill. It's totally smooth, unlike the other brand, in which some of the seeds haven't been broken up. I wish it was similar in that a serving was 2 TBS, rather than 2.5 TBS, but can't have everything.
